TATA DAEWOO Commercial Vehicle has won 200 Million Dollar Export Tower Award and official commendation from the Minister of Knowledge and Economy on the 45th annual Trade Day.
In the award ceremony held on December 4, 2008 at Core Riviera Hotel in Jeonju, TATA DAEWOO received 200 Million Dollar Export Tower Award after it won 100 Million Dollar Export Tower Award in 2006. The prestigious award well illustrates TATA DAEWOO¡¯s rapid growth in export, which has doubled in just two years. TATA DAEWOO is the first commercial vehicle company in Korea to win the Export Tower Award by exporting of only heavy-duty truck.
As a manufacturer of heavy-duty truck and medium-sized truck with a broad product range of cargo, dump, tractor, mixer and SPV (special purpose truck), TATA DAEWOO now exports to 40 countries around the world. The company has steadily recorded average annual growth rate of 60 percent since it was rechristened as TATA DAEWOO Commercial Vehicle in March, 2004, when Tata Motors acquired Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company. TATA DAEWOO is getting strong responses and trust from its export markets as the company provides customized trucks that best suit to the various road conditions of export countries. TATA DAEWOO is planning to aggressively expand its export markets and reinforce its overseas marketing capability its coming years.
In addition to winning 200 Million Dollar Export Tower Award, TATA DAEWOO was also felicitated as its two employees were honored with official commendation from the Minister of Knowledge and Economy. General Manager of Product Planning Team, Cho Jeong-wook won the commendation for his contribution to product development for overseas market and Deputy General Manager of Production Department Pang Jae-ho was awarded in recognition of his leading role in developing a unique production management system for commercial vehicle.

2. Trade Day was previously called Export Day, which was designated to commemorate November 30, 1964, when Korea¡¯s export exceeded 100million dollar for the first time. Then in 1987, its official title has changed into Trade Day to emphasize the importance of balanced growth between export and import.
