Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Exhibited Korea¡¯s First 4.5 ton Environment-friendly LPG MCV Truck.
The recently concluded World LP Gas Forum, in Seoul, saw TATA DAEWOO proudly showcasing its 4.5 Winged Body LPG- MCV Truck. The 21st World LP Gas Forum, a platform for promoting the use of clean and efficient fuel source of LP Gas , was held in Seoul at the COEX from 24th to 25th September, 2008. TDCV displayed this product in this Forum, which aims at showcasing and promotion of various applications of LP Gas,- a clean and efficient fuel source, a significant initiative towards a better Quality of Life in a world, already affected by Climate Change.

Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle also participated in the recent Gunsan International Auto Expo 2008(GAEX 29th September to 5th October), showcasing three vehicles and two engines namely, Korea¡¯s first eco-friendly 4.5 ton LPG truck, A Special Tractor Show Car and a 25.5 ton dump truck as well as DV11S engine for HCV and DL06S engine for MCV.

The LPG-MCV truck, runs on a next generation technology, using a LPG Liquid Phase injection (LPLi) 5.9 litre engine that develops 240ps horse power . It not only promotes the use of a low-pollution fuel that meets Euro 5 requirements, but also complements the disadvantages of the conventional LPG or diesel vehicles such as low power output and engine start-up problems in the winter time. The LPLi, TDCV¡¯s LPG truck, is expected not only to provide a better power output, but also dramatically reduce noise and emission levels along with an enhanced engine life as compared to the existing diesel-fueled trucks.

After winning certification on low emission for diesel-fueled Euro4 HCV, TATA DAEWOO has made intensive investments in R&D on clean-fuel technology. Thanks to these efforts, besides low-emission CNG truck currently in production, TATA DAEWOO has also developed the LNG truck together with Korea Gas Corporation back in 2006 and is now currently working on the LPG – MCV 4.5 ton truck.

The project for the development of the Low-emission 4.5-ton LPG MCV truck, that was started in Nov.2006 and scheduled to be completed by 2010(October), saw the prototype being displayed both in the World LP Gas Forum in Seoul and the GAEX in Gunsan, and that it has already captured the imagination of the viewers as an environment- friendly truck which promote low-carbon ¡°green growth¡±.

With the completion of the eco-friendly LPG truck development, TDCV will strengthen its image as a socially responsible company that is determined to stay ahead of others by pioneering the use of cutting-edge environment friendly technology in the design, development and manufacture of commercial vehicles in Korea.
